Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Prepare the Shrimp:
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season them with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using).
- Heat the Pan:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Cook the Shrimp:
- Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
- Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant, but be careful not to burn it.
- Combine and Serve:
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
- Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the shrimp and give it a final toss.
- Serve:
- Transfer the shrimp to a serving dish and garnish with lemon wedges. Serve immediately.
Tips
- For extra flavor, you can add a splash of white wine or chicken broth to the garlic butter sauce.
- Serve the shrimp with crusty bread, rice, or pasta to soak up the delicious sauce.
